A special thank you to the people of Columbia and Maury County!
As we come ever closer to our opening date and the mad dash that is sure to be ahead. We at Tallgrass Meat Co. want to take the time to stop and thank all of people that have helped us get here. To say the response to our dream has been overwhelming is an understatement. There have been so many people that have gone out of their way to help us having just met us. Almost like we weren't two farm kids from Kansas and have lived in Maury county all our lives.
From day one the people of Columbia and Maury County have embraced us as friends. So much so that we couldn't imagine having our start anywhere else.
Other small business have been an incalculable help to. Whether its everyone from Muletown Coffee or Jennifer and her family at the Windmill Bakery. I don't think we would be where we are at without their help. Both the Spring Hill Chamber and Maury County Chamber Alliance helped put us on the right path and helped get us known in the community. I would highly encourage any new business owner or existing owner to get involved with the chamber. We have met so many contacts and made life long friends along the way. We want to also thank our building owner Steven for taking a chance on us as well as our contractors for putting up with foul weather and us while building out the shop. One huge help along the way has been Chris Swoner at the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. (MTSU) He and his organization are probably the best kept (non-secret) in Middle Tennessee. What a valuable and free resource to have starting out.
And lastly, the Good Lord and our faith in Him. It is very scary and so many unknowns when opening a business. That is why we put our trust into Him knowing He will not lead us astray.
We know we are probably forgetting so many others, but just know this. We are so very thankful for all the help and kindness shown to us by the community. We promise to pay it forward and do our best each and every day to deliver a quality product, good memories and a place of community, one steak at a time.
Dustin and Casey.
